Barnes & Noble has the largest selection of college textbooks of any bookstore. The store offers a variety of discounts on books.  Used copies can be purchased from it’s website. It’s a great place to find cheap college textbooks.

If you are taking a literature class, Barnes & Noble has it’s own line of Classics, and many cost less than ten dollars to buy.  You’ll find some in the Bargain Section.  A wide selection of novels can be easily located on the shelves in the store, especially if the book was a recent best seller.  Does someone in your family have a Membership card?  Use that to save a little more money on your books.

Few textbooks will be found on the shelves at Barnes & Noble stores, so you will need to place an order for the textbook you want.  Bring the title, author, and ISBN number of the college textbook into the store, and a bookseller can help you place an order for it.  If the book costs more than twenty-five dollars, the shipping cost will be waived.  Most orders take two weeks to arrive, so plan ahead.

If you have a credit card, or a Barnes & Noble gift card, you can go to bn.com and order the textbook yourself.  One advantage of using the website instead of going into the stores is that you can buy used books from the website.  The stores only offer new books, even if you are placing an order.

Once you have arrived at bn.com, locate the link that says “textbooks” near the top of the page. Type the ISBN number of the textbook you want into the search that automatically pops up.  You can use the ten digit ISBN number or the thirteen digit one, because they both work the same. Then click the green button that says, “find”.

This will bring you to a page that will tell you the price of the book if you buy a new copy.  Underneath that it will say “Buy it used”, how many used copies are available, and a cheaper price than what the new copy cost.  Click on the link that says, “see all available” to search the used copies.  The least expensive copy will be at the top of the page.  Click “add to cart”, and  “proceed to checkout” to make a purchase.  Cheap college textbooks are easily found here.
